Eragon: Inheritance Book One Chapter 35: The Ra'zac's Revenge

Upon waking, Eragon is tied up beside Brom, bound by the Ra’zac. He cannot summon any magic words and finds that he has been drugged. By threatening Eragon, the Ra’zac were also able to subdue Saphira and wrap her in chains and a muzzle. The Ra’zac tear through Eragon’s things and question him as he threatens them, unsure what to do with their captives.

As a Ra’zac threatens to kill Brom, an arrow tears through his shoulder. Arrows rain in from the dark and an unseen enemy scares the Ra’zac away. Before leavin though a Ra’zac kicks Eragon in the ribs and moves to throw a dagger to his ribs. Brom jumps in front of him though and takes the throw.
