Money is very important in everyones everyday life. Money is the foundation that supports people, their living habits and expensive. Often money can be the cause of many emotions, it can bring you happiness but could be the complete contrary like sadness and stress. Almost everything is related to money, which may cause many arguments and disagreements on things.

In the play Death of a Salesman, I believe that money is the main theme and which initiates many of the conflicts between characters. Money can combine many symbols together, such as Wheels; Willy continuing his job that he very much dislikes but works anyway just to be able to pay for his house, refrigerator and other house related things. Also the symbol math, that recognizes the hopes and dreams that arent being accomplished because no one has a high enough job to pay for anything. William Loman borrows money from Charley pretending hes keeping a cautious account, knowing he will never have the money to pay him back. Eventually leading to the death of Willy, hoping that his insurance will give his family $20 000. As well as the jungle representing uncontrolled, hazardous environment that spins into a dark twisted cyclone of being afraid to never be as good as the man who walked out of the jungle and found a diamond mine at the age of 21. Money is a very important aspect of the Lomans family as well as the rest of the world.

Money begins and influences a lot of arguments. It could be a self confliction, between a couple, family or business. Not being able to pay for the things you know you have to pay for could become quite frustrating. Financial problems are always going to be a problem with less fortunate people. Linda and Willy argue about many different financial problems, for instance the payments for the refrigerator, a commission of two hundred and twelve dollars, broken washing machine, the remaining twenty one dollars for the roof, the carburetor for the Chevrolet and many other little things that Willys pay could not compensate. When you cant afford certain necessities, thats when the children get involved. Will is never happy enough with what Biff is doing with his life, only making a couple dollars an hour. Not realizing that Biffs making more then him because Willy is really borrowing money from Charley, in addition Biff also enjoys his job a lot more then his father. Forcing Biff to join the life a salesman, and ask Oliver to borrow ten thousand dollars. Biff does not succeed with Oliver, disappointing Will because they still have no money.

Starting off as a child that attends school, moving on to college or university and then a job, this continues to be worked up until retirement. You have to work your whole life to be able to find a job that pays for your expenses and the more you want you have to work for it. Figure it out. Work a lifetime to pay off a house. You finally own it, and theres nobody to live in it explains Will to his wife as they discuss Williams career and income. You work for something your entire life and in the end you cant even really enjoy it.

If money werent a big factor in life a lot more people would be happier. Every one would be seen as equal and we would have an equivalent society and better outlook on people. If money were to lose its value, there would be a lot less problems and conflicts. People would not have to work as much to afford a descent lifestyle. Also it could have possibly saved the life of a salesman trying to help out his family. Over all money is the cause of most unhappiness throughout the world.
