Don Juan

Don Juan by George Gordon Byron Lord Byron

Don Juan, a satiric poem, recounts the legend of famous lothario Don Juan. In Byron's version, Don Juan is not a master of seduction, but rather a man who is easily manipulated by women. This epic, written in iambic pentameter, is one of Byron's best known works and follows its protagonist through a number of misadventures and liaisons, including Juan cross-dressing to avoid detection by a jealous sultan and at one point attempting to nurse his own mugger back to health.
