The Return of the King is the final book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It follows three main story threads: Gandalf and Pippin, along with the men of Gondor, as they attempt to hold off the oncoming hordes of Mordor, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli as they travel the Paths of the Dead, and Sam and Frodo as they try to destroy the One Ring.
