The Diary of a young girl essay

Anne one of many survivors, but the only survivor who believed in the good of the enemy. Anne the girl who once escaped the mass murder in Germany had escaped to Amsterdam in hope to live a new life away from the dreaded fate of the Germans. She writes journal entries about her experiences about her two year ordeal in the annex away from the Germans. The world shows Anne her good people and bad people the good people acting like saints, but the bad people coming across as perplexing and inhumane which makes Anne think of everyone being inhumane and crazy so she may not understand were kindness is in the world. But there is still good in the world but she doesnt seem to believe it.

These thoughts are demonstrated by the people that helped them in their time of need Mr Kugler, Miep, they helped Anne and her family escape the wrath and housed them in the annex for two years. They show acts of kindness the biggest one in the book is when the Frank family is taken in by the co workers of Otto, this is evidence of good average people doing great acts of kindness for their friends. This must have affected Annes view on people.

On top of this the hosts showed more acts of kindness by inviting the Van Daan family and Mr Dussel to stay in the annex for the lengthy time of two years. The food supplier showed acts of kindness by giving them massive amounts of food for example when they got the delivery of strawberries and peas this was a very big help to the annex because the annex was running low on entertainment and healthy foods to keep them alive. This book shows lots of examples of rage in and out of the annex. Outside the annex is the war, discrimination, hate and despicable acts of desperation, and inside the annex are the feuds between families about the pettiest ordeals about when to eat and not and were to bathe. A example of rage is when the whole annex was up and fighting about what to eat, it was described like the annex was split into two sides the Van Daans and Mr Dussel on one side and the other the people that originally accepted them into the annex, the Frank family, and the fight was about how to eat and cook potatoes, this is showing how ignorant people can be in difficult times.

In addition, in the quote Anne talks about the losing hope of people and how nothing will work out because it will be torn down by the unknown enemy. She no longer believes in people ever being humane again because when she looks outside her window she sees the destruction of her people and her friends brought in by the mysterious enemy never knowing why they did it.

Lastly, Anne Frank was a optimistic person who then found out the truth of humanity whilst staying in the annex for the period of two years, in that time her home country turns against her because her choice of religion and beliefs, thats when Anne gave up on humanity being united.
