To Kill a Mocking Bird, is a book that has been regarded as a masterpiece of American Literature. Scout Finch and her older brother Jem, live in Maycomb Alabama. The small town is suffering through the Great Depression. However their father Atticus Finch is a lawyer and is reasonably well off. Since the town is so little news and rumors spread quickly through their community. Those stories included the ones created about the legend Boo Radley.

Dill, a friend of the Finch children, stays in their neighborhood ever summer. He is very interested in Boo Radley and decides to investigate the Radley property. But, Dills idea gets Jem shot at by Boo Radleys older brother Nathan. Jem looses his pants trying to escape and finds them the next day sown together and hung neatly on the fence. The kids presume it was the work of Boo. Over that same summer the kids found presents sitting in a tree hole that was in between their house and the Radley Place. The presents were obviously for them, everyday there would be a different gift until Nathan Radley blocked up the hole.

He will do just about anything to send Tom to jail if he committed the crime or not. After Atticus efforts it was obvious that Tom was innocent, but the jury didnt see a reason to believe a black man and Tom was convicted and sent to jail. Even though Bob Ewell, won the case he vowed to seek revenge on Atticus for humiliating him in the courtroom. One night when Jem, and Scout were walking home from a Halloween party, he attempted to stab Jem.
