"The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" is a short story by Katherine Anne Porter about the thoughts and reflections of a dying old woman. Granny Weatherall reflects on her past, coming to terms with her having been abruptly abandoned by her fiance sixty years ago. Despite this blow, Granny managed to lead a good life, found a husband and had children. In the end, shortly before her death, she is hurt again when God does not answer her. The story presents themes of grief and redemption, loneliness and love.
