Edgar Huntly, Or, Memoirs of a Sleepwalker is a 1799 novel written by Charles Brockden Brown. Edgar Huntly attempts to figure out who murdered his friend Waldengrave. He suspects sleepwalking Clithero, follows him and eventually confronts him. Clithero did not commit the murder, though he did commit another one. One night Edgar awakes, trapped in a cave. He rescues a kidnapped girl and kills warring Indians only to discover that he has been sleepwalking and that Waldengrave was murdered by the Indians.
