Seven Pillars of Wisdom is a semi-fictional autobiography by British soldier T. E. Lawrence who fought with Arab tribesmen against the Ottoman Empire in the 1910s. The book details Lawrence's relationships with several prominent Arab leaders, his estimation of their culture, his experiences in combat, and many other observations on the nature of the Arab countryside and on the influence of British colonialism around the world. The book is often cited as having fictionalized much of Lawrence's experience.
