  • The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is a collection of connected vignettes by British author Rudyard Kipling. Its best-known stories follow the adventures of human foundling Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. Along with his animal mentors Mowgli wrestles with his identity as a human and with his allegiance to and affection for his adoptive family and the other creatures of the jungle. Kipling's stories reflect on British colonialism in India an on the magic inherent to the wild.
