The Island of Dr. Moreau is a science fiction novel that tells the story of Edward Prendick, a shipwrecked man who is left on the island of Doctor Moreau, a physiologist who performs gruesome dissections and experiments on animals. Edward soon finds that Moreau has been using animal parts to create human-like beings. These Beast Folk inhabit the island and live under Moreau's rule.
