Hiroshima is a book that tells the true stories of six people who survived the US nuclear attack on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. The story beings with the detonation of the bomb and its initial mass-destruction, including graphic descriptions of civilians being vaporized instantly, losing limbs, and skin melting off of their bodies. The stories follow the people's attempts to survive and save one another, documenting the continued deaths and disease from radiation during the confusion in the aftermath of the attack.
