The Art of War is a treatise by Chinese sage Sun Tzu, an advisor and campaigner. The treatise sets out a codifying set of values meant to determine the ideal military commander. It also presents a wide range of tactics based on values of pragmatism, misdirection, and honor. The entire volume lays out several models by which entire military campaigns could be waged, especially in the context of medieval China.
