Against All Enemies is a 2004 book by Richard Clarke, the chief counter-terrorism advisor to president George W. Bush. The book argues that the September 11 attacks were preventable, that their threats were ignored and that the invasion of Iraq was a misguided strategic failure in the War on Terror. With intimate inside knowledge of the Bush administration, Clarke recounts how the administration fabricated a pretext for invading Iraq against all evidence that Iraq was not responsible for the attacks. According to Clarke, the invasion only helped Al-Qaeda gain support.
