The Necklace

In The Necklace Mathilde in the first apartment she felt very unhappy and very unsatisfied but that one night when she was looking around her home she felt the absence of all the delicacies and the luxuries. All these things she was depressed about were only in the rich homes. As her and her husband sat down at the table with the clothe she had on it for three days, it did it job. As the two were sitting down for a nice dinner the husband looked very satisfied and she let her mind take her away from that evening. She allowed it to take her to the homes and the riches that she wanted.

The party is a big event and all the top people were going to be there. So her husband was happy and when he gave his wife the invitation she opened it and she cried. The reason was that she didnt have nothing to ware and basically all she felt like was an outsider. But her husband talked her into going. So then she was like I dont have any money for a dress or any jewelry. So he gave her money and tolled her to go out and get a nice dress and all like that. So she went to her friend and asked her if she could borrow a piece of jewelry and her friend brought out a box of some and told her to borrow anyone she wanted that they were like sisters. So she went to the party and had a good time so she thought she did and then when she got home thats when she realized that the necklace she borrowed was gone.

Mathilde in the necklace was a negative person with things the way they were. By here being this way in the story it affected the way the bad luck happened for her and her husband after the party. For example if she didnt have to assume that her friends necklace she borrowed wasnt real she could have saved the hassle on what she put her husband through coming up with the money to try to get her a new necklace to replace the old one. In the story she is also prideful meaning that that when she lost the friends necklace she didnt go to her and say hey I lost your necklace. She went pretty much and tried to get her a new one the next day but didnt work out the way she wanted it to. So because her pride wouldnt let her go and ask her friend for help instead she wanted to pay it back. The determinedness that she showed was trying to get her friends necklace back by her having this, it affected the story by putting them even further indebt.
