Tropic of Capricorn is a fictionalized but pseudo-autobiographical novel about the life of author Henry Miller. Set during the Roaring Twenties in New York City, the story follows Miller's sensationalized experiences during his turbulent marriage to June Miller and his frustrating employment at Cosmodemonic Telegraph Company. These experiences directly parallel the real Miller's during his work with Western Union, an experience which he loathed but which led him to a spiritual awakening and to his career as an author.
