Seize the Day is a novel by Saul Bellow published in 1956. The novel tells the story of a day in a life of a middle-aged man named Wilhelm Adler. Adler is an unsuccessful actor, unemployed, poor and estranged from his separated wife and children. The book chronicles his introspective attempts to finally come to terms with himself and to realize the qualities of himself that have led to his disappointment in life.
