I, Robot is a collection of short stories centered on the theme of intelligent and semi-intelligent artificial life. In humanity's future robots have become ubiquitous in all walks of life. The machines perform labor on behalf of humans, serve them in their everyday lives, and drive industry forward. They abide by three laws of robotics which mandate their obedience toward and protection of humans, as well as forbidding them from harming humans or themselves.
