Cross Creek is a memoir by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, the author of The Yearling, in which she recounts her experiences living in the Florida hamlet of Cross Creek in the 1930s. The book recounts Marjorie's struggles to manage her own orange grove and farm animals, as well as her relationships with her Cross Creek neighbors. Although she eventually moved away from her Florida farm, the hamlet continued to influence her writing and hold a special place in her heart.
