Andromache is a tragedy by the Ancient Greek playwright Euripides about themes of freedom and subjugation. After the fall of Troy, Andromache, wife of the great Trojan warrior Hector, is enslaved by the Greek Neoptolemos. She attempts to hide her son, fearing that King Menelaus will kill them both. After arguing with Neoptolemos' antagonistic wife, Hermione, Menelaus comes and takes her away. However, Neoptolemus' grandfather, Peleus, saves her and Orestes murders Neoptolemus over Hermione.
