After the First Death is a novel by Robert Cormier, published in 1979. The novel follows the events of a terrorist hijacking from multiple perspectives. Kate, the bus driver, is ordered to drive to a railroad bridge, where a siege begins with the police pitted against the terrorists, who demand freedom for their homeland.
