Beowulf is a Hero

Some heroes have to go through many obstacles just to become a great hero. Beowulf fought through three major battles for one group of people, and he didnt use laser eyes, flying skills, and super strength. But like every hero, theres always a reward after they complete their role.

In the epic poem Beowulf, his use tactics such as being defend less and using his bear arm against Grendal. If I hid behind some broad linden shield. My hands alone shall fight for me. (25)171. This is evidence that Beowulf uses good tactics to overcome his battles and victories.

In the epic poem Beowulf, he uses his man power to restraint the heat in the water to fight Grendals Mother. Then he realizes, suddenly, that shed brought him into someones battle-hall, and there the waters heat could not hurt him. (40) 589. Most man cant even breathe under water yet alone in really hot water, but Beowulf did both while fighting against Grendals Mother.

In the epic poem Beowulf, he uses defensive weapons that help him against the Mighty Dragon. To flames beat at the iron shield, and for time it held, protected Beowulf as hed planned. (43) 721. The iron shield that Beowulf wore defended him against the flame and helped him survive the attack.

In the epic poem Beowulf, the king rewarded twisted gold treasures every time he is victories. Save us, once more, and again twisted gold, heaped-up ancient treasure, will reward you for the battle you win. (37) 566. This goes by the saying hard work pays off, the battle might be a hard battle, but you will get rewarded after your achievement just like Beowulf.

In the epic poem Beowulf, rewards were a way of saying thank you for all you have done. Beowulf got rewarded a couple of times for his achievements. Then Wiglaf went back, anxious to return while Beowulf was alive, to bring him treasure theyd won together. (45) 791. Even when Beowulf died, he still got treasure for the victory over the dragon, and another reward he got for his achievement was a holy ritual (funeral).

An epic hero doesnt have to be a superpower hero. But most heroes tactics, weapons, and courage to become heroes. Beowulf did a great job in putting these three abilities together, which basically made him an epic hero. He didnt fight for his survival; he fought for the survival of his people, which is why he sacrifices his life at the end so his people could have a future.
